It was the night that fans of 'The Voice' have been waiting for all season, the night that the winner was finally crowned. But there were plenty of reasons to slow clap before the winners were announced. The night kicked off with a performance from former 'The Voice' coach and soon-to-be Mrs Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, with her single 'Slow Clap'.

This wasn't Blake's only love who made their way back to 'The Voice' finale. Adam Levine also returned to 'The Voice' set to perform 'Beautiful Mistakes', though prior to performing he did think it was a mistake to return, considering Blake couldn't stop texting him.

'The Voice' Season 20 Finale: Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Justin Bieber on show's star-studded performers list

It seems that if Stefani was a contestant on 'The Voice' she wouldn't get fans' votes. One viewer tweeted, "This Clap song by Gwen is straight trash. Laughably bad. #TheVoice." Another tweeted, "You'd think after all these years Gwen Stefani would be a better lip syncer. #TheVoice."

Kelsea Ballerini who stepped in as a guest judge on this season of 'The Voice' however got a much more positive reaction for her song, 'Half of My Hometown', which she performed with Team Kelly's finalist Kenzie Wheeler. Fans loved the performance. One fan tweeted, "kelsea literally sounds like the studio version of this song she is so talented #thevoice #thevoicefinale #voicefinale." Another fan tweeted, "Ok but Kelsea on the voice tonight was absolutely amazingly perfect!!! #TheVoice@NBCTheVoice."

Up next it was time for a duet by Nick Jonas and Rachel Mac. The two performed The Foo Fighters track 'Best of You'. Fans applauded Nick and Rachel's performance. One fan tweeted, "@NBCTheVoice ummm @nickjonas you look so good and hot in that hat #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "Rachel Mac sings with her coach, Nick Jonas. She sounds like a visiting artist, matching Nickโ€™s star power and intensity. She just gets better and better. #TheVoice #VoiceFinale."

One Republic was the next to take to the stage with their single 'Run'. It was a fitting performance since One Republic was a part of the very first 'The Voice' finale 10 years ago. The next performance of the night was two-time Grammy Award winner Lauren Daigle who performed her new single 'Hold On to Me'. Up next it was 'The Voice' Season 20's mega mentor Snoop Dogg to take to the stage with 'Sittin on Blades' from his 18th studio album, 'From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites'. Fans loved the old-school vibes that Snoop was bringing to the stage. One fan tweeted, "Snoop is still a vibe #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "Loved Snoop's performance."

It was then time for the performance most fans had been waiting for, Justin Bieber. Bieber performed a medley of his platinum hits 'Peaches' and 'Hold On'. Fans however were too busy focussing on Justin's mane rather than his music. One fan tweeted, "Why does @justinbieber look like a homeless #Bjรถrk ? #TheVoice #TheVoiceFinale." Another fan tweeted, "Since #JustinBieber is singing about mistakes letโ€™s start with his hair. #TheVoice #VoiceFinale."

It was then time for another judge and finalist duet as John Legend and Team Legend finalist Victor Solomon took to the stage. Not surprisingly fans were impressed. One fan tweeted, "This Victor & John combo though #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "John and Victorโ€™s performance was flawless and smooth #TheVoice."

The next performance of the night was Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actor and musician Ben Platt performing his new single 'Imagine', which already has over 5 million global streams to date. Fans loved his performance and even had a collaboration in mind. One fan tweeted, "Love!! Letโ€™s get a Ben Platt and Jonas Brothers collaboration! #TheVoice #TeamNick." Talking about collaborations, Kelly Clarkson and Kenzie Wheeler collaborated on 'When You Say Nothing At All'. But fans didn't have much to say about this performance. One fan tweeted, "I love Kelly but this isnโ€™t a winning duet here and her contestant isnโ€™t the issue. #thevoice." Another fan tweeted, "Kenzie sounding the same once again #TheVoice."

Up next it was country star Thomas Rhett, who joined the show remotely performing 'Country Again' from his fifth studio double album, 'Country Again: Side A'. Fans however by this point in the finale, were beginning to feel that the show was becoming a bit of a snooze fest compared to the previous night with the finalists' power-packed performances. One fan tweeted, "This sterile #TheVoice finale is so boring compared to last night's exciting final battle featuring top notch contestant performances."

Country music continued on 'The Voice' with Shelton taking to the stage with 'The Voice' finalist Jordan Matthew Young singing George Strait's 'All My Exes Live in Texas'. Fans got a little of the crazy they needed during a lackluster finale with Cam Anthony's performance with coach Shelton, as they performed 'She Drives Me Crazy'. One fan tweeted, "#TheVoice - What an unlikely duo #Blake & #CamAnthony but some how it works. Love is love. It was meant to be. I'm so glad Blake turned, Nick blocked & Cam listened to his mama." Fans just wanted Cam to win already. One fan tweeted, "Cam!!! Better be the winner!! We need this kid. We ALL need this kid!!! #TheVoice."

But if there was anyone who could make the audience hold on for just a while longer, it was returning 'The Voice' coach Levine who performed 'Beautiful Mistakes' with Maroon 5 featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The question fans had after his performance was if the hot pink hair was a beautiful mistake? One fan tweeted, "ADAM. LOLLLL WHAT IS YOUR LOOK SIR #TheVoice (This song is a bop tho, obsessed with it)." Another fan tweeted, "Adam Levine's look on #TheVoice tonight... No, just no."

Fans did feel that in spite of all the big-ticket performances, the finale did drag on. So it was with much relief that it was time for the results with the top five taking to the stage for the final time. In fifth place, rather shockingly, after his stunning finale performance of 'Freedom' was Victor Solomon. Fans were shocked. One fan tweeted, "Victor in 5th!? I thought he would Atleast be top 3 #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "Victor hands down deserved to win The Voice and was robbed. His performance of Freedom was outright Grammy performance worthy. #TheVoice."

The fourth spot went to the only female performer in the finals and the youngest in the competition, Rachel Mac. The third place went to Team Blake's Jordan Matthew Young and the two finalists left standing were Kenzie Wheeler and Anthony. While fans were worried that the country vote would see Kenzie through to the top spot, it seems that the votes were just too strong for Anthony who ended up being crowned the winner of 'The Voice', making this the eighth win for Coach Blake Shelton. Fans were beyond thrilled. One fan tweeted, "Finally, the correct person won! Cam was phenomenal all season #TheVoice #VoiceFinale." Another fan tweeted, "All is right with #TheVoicefinale Cam wins. Definitely would never had watched again if he didn't. #TheVoice."

Fans are now excited to see what Cam goes onto do with his career. One fan tweeted, "Cam for the win!!!! Watch out for this young singer to become a superstar! I've never said that about anyone who has won #TheVoice ever. This guy has the "it" factor. Truly deserving."

'The Voice' Season 21 will now return to NBC in the fall with new coach Ariana Grande.
