'The Voice' Season 19 Semi-Finals: John Holiday's performance leaves John Legend and fans in tears

Fans couldn't stop raving about John Holiday's heartwarming performance to Coldplay's 'Fix You'

Since day 1 John Holiday has consistently managed to impress coaches with his amazing performances. From bagging four chair turns during blind auditions to leaving John Legend in tears, Holiday has done it all. So, it came as no surprise when Holiday managed to breeze through the competition and secure a spot in the semi-finals round. For his semi-finals performance, Holidays wanted to show off how versatile his vocals were.

John Legend explained in his green room interview, how after wowing everybody with his jazz and R&B performances, it was time for Holiday to prove his mettle with a pop track. Holiday chose Cold Play's 'Fix You' track as his pick for the semi-finals. During rehearsals, after Holiday was done performing, John Legend was left with tears rolling down his face. The coach praised Holiday for his impeccable performance, then also commended him on his choice of song.

Prior to his performance, Holiday had dedicated the song to JohnLegend and his wife Chrissy Teigen, and family. John Legend recounted how recently his family was sitting together when the song began playing. On hearing the song, everybody reportedly began crying. He expressed how his family was going through a hard time, while also acknowledging that the year hasn't been easy for anyone. John Legend thanked Holiday for singing 'Fix You' at such a time and was confident that the contestant would set the stage on fire with his performance.

Holiday lived up to his coach's expectations and wowed everybody with not only his incredible take on 'Fix You', but also his piano skills. Several fans took to their Twitter to rave about how heartwarming and moving Holiday's performance was. A fan wrote, "The semifinals are upon us. I love John Holiday. When he sang "fix you" it brought me to tears. I hate its almost over. #thevoice #teamlegend #teamkelly #thelive #semifinals." "Wtf !!?? John Holiday on #TheVoice just blew me away." tweeted a fan. "John Holiday’s voice is very unique! I haven’t heard anyone’s voice like that. I appreciate that. Love that version of Fix You. #TheVoice," commented a fan.
