Episode 17 of the ‘The Voice’ season 19 premiered the first part of the Live finale where we saw the top five namely John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger, Carter Rubin and Ian Flanigan taking to the stage with their cover songs along with debuting their original tracks for the very first time.

The 15-year-old Carter Rubin from Team Gwen took the stage for the second time in the evening after already flooring the judges with his cover track ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus. With an intention to get the final votes from America, the young lad once again took over the stage but this time with his original song called ‘Up From Here.’ Before hitting the stage, we also saw Carter sitting with award-winning singer-songwriter Justin Tranter and his coach Gwen Stefani. Talking about his original tracks, Carter asserted, “I definitely relate to this song as, we all have highs and lows in our lives and we can all go through them if we have our loved ones with us.” The young chap also got important points from Tranter and Gwen for his Live finale performance.

After he left all the judges impressed with his powerful show, Gwen stated, “I am so proud of you. I don’t think America understands what all contestants go through on the show but being a 15-year-old taking the stage is exceptional. I am honored to work with you and glad I know you.” Though a lot of social media users had labelled his first performance boring and dull, the Internet had some nice words for his latest set. One user stated, “@NBCTheVoice Carter Rubin just made me cry! This kid is amazing!” One expressed, “Carter Rubin deserves to win the Voice competition!!!” Another added, “Carter Rubin won the voice. I don’t even need to see the votes.” One user tweeted, “omg this will do well on youtube.  Carter Rubin got this best original song. #TheVoice #VoiceFinale” Another posted, “carter Rubin needs to win this season of the voice that is just a fact and if not then the only other acceptable outcome is john holiday. #TheVoice @NBCTheVoice”

The contestants in the instant save round included Ben Allen from Team Gwen, Cami Clune from Team Kelly, Bailey Rae and Tamara Jade from Team John and Ian Flanigan represented Team Blake. The contestants gave their best shot as it was their last chance to get saved. In the end, it was Ian Flanigan from Team Blake who made it to the finale as the fifth contestant.
