The fight for a spot in the finale of ‘The Voice’ Season 19 officially began as Episode 16 broadcasted the results of the Top 9 semi-finalists. The contestant with the maximum votes moved to the finale to fill the five seats, out of which the top four included John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger and Carter Rubin. For the fifth spot, the rest of the contestants performed a solo set to get the instant save from the audience.

The contestants in the instant save round included Ben Allen from Team Gwen, Cami Clune from Team Kelly, Bailey Rae and Tamara Jade from Team John and Ian Flanigan represented Team Blake. The contestants gave it their all as it was their last chance to get saved by America. After they showcased their singing skills, it was time to pick only one singer for the fifth spot in the finale. Host Carson Daly announced that it was Ian Flanigan from Blake Shelton’s team who will grab the last spot in the finals.

The result from the instant save left a lot of fans furious and disappointed at the same time as many felt that Cami Clune from Kelly Clarkson’s team deserved a spot in the top five. Speaking on the same lines, one user stated, “This is why I will never watch this show again. Cami deserved to go on before Ian. Hell anyone else deserved it.@blakeshelton #VoiceResults.” One expressed, “What a crock...just a popularity contest with all of Blake Shelton’s fans voting for his contestant. Sorry Cami Clune should have won!” Another added, “Cami Clune deserves to be in the finale! #TheVoice.” One individual shared, “Cami clune and tamara jade deserved so much going to the finales, im really sad.”

In Episode 15, the 20-year-old semi-finalist had covered the popular track ‘The Joke’ by Brandi Carlile and dedicated it to her mom. Cami’s coach Kelly Clarkson seemed impressed with her performance and liked how she pulled off an emotional character for her set. Gwen Stefani also praised the singer, saying that her voice is angelic and her tone is pure.

To reiterate, the top five finalists now include John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger, Carter Rubin and Ian Flanigan. If Ian or Jim win the show, coach Blake Shelton will then lift the singing reality show’s trophy for a record eighth time. For the unversed, the finale of ‘The Voice’ is scheduled for December 15, 2020, which will be aired on NBC. Fans can also catch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.
