'The Voice' Season 18: Country singer Cam Spinks stumbles as Pastor Todd Tilghman takes the show to church
Blake Shelton's team is back again, this time with Cam Spinks and Todd Tilghman, and mentor James Taylor.
Kicks off with a short performance from James, and one fan tweets "#VoiceKnockouts How do they not burst into tears when they realize James Taylor is their mentor? I'm a mess just watching him on TV."
Cam will be singing 'Rumour' by Lee Bryce. The mentors tell him to get more growl and rasp in there. Todd is singing 'Anymore'.
"#VoiceKnockouts Todd could win the voice! He is like a marching band!" tweets one fan, while another states, "#VoiceKnockouts Blake you're going to have a tough decision between Cam and Todd!!!"
Todd is up first. He sounds almost operatic at the start, displaying beautiful control over his lower register.
"Todd Tilghman is so present in the moment," tweets one user, adding, "Love how he can go tender and then get so rough. He is preaching some of them lyrics up there. Reminds me of Michael McDonald. Great vocal! #TheVoice"
"Todd sang great loved it! #VoiceKnockouts" says one fan, while another states "Todd is magic."
One fan tweets, "#VoiceKnockouts Todd has to win the knock out! That was fantastic!!!"
Cam goes next. And he's as classic country as it gets, aside from a few minor pitch issues.
"Cam Spinks is strong and animated behind the mic and guitar, but I feel like he is struggling a bit," tweets one user, adding "Something is just not jelling. I didn’t quite get it. #TheVoice"
John Legend points out the pitch issues with Cam. Both John and Nick Jonas felt Todd "brought them to church" with his performance. The coaches lean towards Todd tonight.
Blake says that Cam seemed to be the winner during rehearsals, but Todd came out and proved why he was in this competition. He picks Todd as the winner for this round, which sadly means Cam is going home tonight.
Fans agreed with this decision. "I've like Cam but Todd blew it away!!@blakeshelton #VoiceKnockouts," tweets one fan, while another states, "#VoiceKnockouts Todd was the right person. Awesome voice and stage present"
