'The Voice' Season 18 kicked off with its blind auditions on February 24 (Monday) night, and amongst the contestants who auditioned is someone who needs a special mention - Todd Michael Hall.

Veteran coaches, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned to their chairs and joining them was new coach Nick Jonas who is replacing Gwen Stefani. Todd proved to be a rock star in the making with his stunning rendition of 'Juke Box Hero'. John and Blake turned their chairs for Todd and in the end, he chose Blake as his coach.

We can't wait to see what this season holds for Todd. He is not new to the music scene and needs no introduction, especially not to fans of rock. Here's what you need to know about the rock and roll contestant:

Todd has been the fifth official lead singer for Riot aka Riot V, a rock band. Todd has also sung in many other metal bands that include Harlet, Pulling Teeth, Jack Starr's Burning Starr, Reverence, Entice and Avalon. Todd is 50-years old and hails from Saginaw, Michigan. He is married with three kids. He is the head of his family’s manufacturing company and he also owns a climbing gym.

Apart from being the lead singer for Riot V, Todd also released a solo album in 2017 titled 'Letter from India'. In an interview with Roppongi Rocks, he shared that he wrote the songs in the late 1990s. He also revealed that his album was inspired by his long-distance relationship with his wife Lumpeny.

Post his album, Todd has also released four three-song EP's titled 'Fire', 'Air', 'Earth' and 'Water'. They were released in 2019. In an interview with Sail Away Tomorrow, Todd shared that he was 17 when he recorded his first album with Harlet in 1988. The album was titled '25 Gets a Ride'.  Todd also revealed that he has been singing since he was 15 years old.

Todd's innings on 'The Voice' has his bandmates on Riot V also excited as  Riot V guitarist Mike Flyntz posted on his social media ," I am very proud of RIOT/ RIOT V vocalist Todd Michael Hall. It’s been an honor to perform and record with one of the greatest singers I’ve ever heard. I’ve had to keep my mouth shut about this for a few months now but we are proud to announce Todd auditioned for The Voice. Please"

We can't wait to see who Blake pairs Todd with when the Battle Rounds begin.

'The Voice' Season 18 airs every Monday and Tuesday only on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
