An hour and a half into the blind auditions, we witnessed an audition that was truly blind not just for the coaches but also for viewers back home.

'The Voice' Season 18 kicked off on February 24 night with a slew of blind auditions that saw the coaches really battle it out to choose the best among them. Veteran coaches John Legend, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson returned to their chairs, alongside new coach Nick Jonas who replaced Gwen Stefani.

Among the contestants who auditioned on Monday night one particular contestant needs a special mention - Todd Micahel Hall. He is a rock star in the making and his incredible voice range is just phenomenal! He might be 50-years-old but he still looks hip and we can't wait to see what this season holds for him.

Performing his version of 'Juke Box Hero', John was the first coach to turn his chair for Todd and Blake followed suit. Post his performance Blake shared, "That is incredible. That takes me back to the hair bands, man. That is what I love. That is a direct path to the finale dude. You like to rock. I like to party. Let's put those together."

John, on the other hand, was impressed with his range and shared that he could lead Todd to the winners' circle if he chose him as his coach. Left with a tough decision, Todd chose Blake as his coach.

It's of little surprise that we had these two coaches battling over him. A little research tells us that Todd is no stranger to fame.  He’s been the lead singer of the world-touring rock band Riot (also referred to as Riot V) since 2013. In fact, he also has a solo album which he released in 2017 titled 'Letters from India'.  His musical experience is not limited to one solo album, he has also recorded music with the following bands: Pulling Teeth, Jack Starr’s Burning Starr, Reverence and Riot. His most recent albums with those bands were 2018’s “Armor of Light” with Riot and 2017’s “Stand Your Ground” with Jack Starr’s Burning Starr.

Taking to Twitter post his performance fans also vouched for him being the real deal. "This man is the real deal!!! Perfect rock voice. C’mon Blake, take this rocker to the FINAL!!!," a fan shared. "Yes yes team Blake just won with a rock god !!!" a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "Todd Michael Hall is going to win this Year !!!#TheVoice."

"@blakeshelton #VoicePremiere Blake Congratulations on having the other Todd on your team!!" a fan wrote. While another shared, "Todd Michael Hall was awesome! It was like a show! I had to turn it up! Dang! He just need a guitar now. THAT Voice!! Ooh la la #TheVoice."

"@blakeshelton #VoicePremiere Todd is born to sing 'Child in Time' by Deep Purple. What a voice, you got a winner there!!!" a fan shared.
