People's choice awards took place last week and we are still hungover from Gwen Stefani's stylish and perfect look for the event. No wonder she was named the Fashion Icon of the year, 2019. Being a mentor on NBC's popular show 'The Voice', she does not hold back from looking out for the other ladies on her team — Rose Short and Myracle Holloway.

MEA WORLDWIDE (MEAWW) caught up with Rose Short and Myracle Holloway on the sets of 'The Voice' season 17 and had a little chat about how their mentor Gwen Stefani as she dictates Team Gwen's fashion choices. On being asked if Gwen helps the ladies choose their outfits, Rose Short said, "Oh yes, she definitely does have an input. During my battles, I couldn't get up on that stage, I was struggling with a skirt. Gwen was concerned about my comfort on the stage in that skirt!"

Gwen is totally involved in how the ladies on her team look on stage especially when it is a certain song, the way their hair is supposed to fall.

Myracle Holloway loves Gwen's fashion advice especially the hair transformation. She recalls, "If you remember, on Blinds, I had shorter and blond hair. But when I sang the song, 'Get Here', I went for practice with her and she said she saw me wearing a gown. Gwen asked me if I could maybe let my hair grow a little longer for a softer look. I'm so glad I did and I'm never going back because I actually love my new look!"

The girls absolutely love her fashion expertise and trust her completely.

Both the ladies in Team Gwen have come from a very interesting and fascinating background, especially for television. Life perhaps was all about the struggle for these two women. Rising like a phoenix, on stage, they have given some brilliant performances in the past. Music moves the soul and it is bound to drive emotions during the performances. "I just feel validated to go through the things you've been through and overcome them just to be here and never giving up", said Rose.

It was never easy to come all the way here and this is not the easiest thing to pursue. She says, "People look at you and Oh, I wanna sing! and then they say singers are dime a dozen, but they're not like me, they're not like Myracle." Rose could have never imagined that she would be here. She even quit her job to follow her dreams. Rose says it is important to trust your instincts and have faith in God to just be here.

On being asked about her job in prison, if inmates ever watch the voice, Rose said, "Yes, they do. There are two TVs in the room but they cannot play the same show at the same time. But the other day,  they put them both on 'The Voice' and they watch me sing! Too bad they can't vote."

Myracle also said that she gets emotional while performing because she has overcome so many challenges in her personal life. She says, "I have come a long way, I'm standing right here, doing this and it is amazing. I feel thankful, grateful, honored and most importantly I feel liberated." Myracle also feels empowered because she is one of the oldest contestants on the show and there were highs and lows. "At one point in my life I was like "Man... is this ever going to happen?" Because I have so many dreams and visions that would come to me and before I snap out of it, I had to write them down", she recalls about her regular life before the show.

Myracle says that this show has given her the opportunity to showcase her talents and that she really feels like she is supposed to be here and that's why she gets emotional on stage.

'The Voice' airs on Monday and Tuesday on NBC at 8 PM.
