'The Voice' Season 17 finalist Katie Kadan reveals how singing iconic songs are 'intimidating' but also 'so much fun'

'The Voice' Season 17 is nearing its end, with the finale set to air live when the series returns on Monday night. The Top 4 contestants will take to the stage for one last time this season and battle it out for America's votes.
The Top 4 contestants this season are Katie Kadan, Jake Hoot, Ricky Duran and the Instant Save winner, Rose Short. Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Gwen Stefani all have a chance this season to win the title, as each coach has a contestant in the grand finale. It could be anyone's chance.
The first contestant to make it to the finale on Tuesday night was Katie Kadan from Team Legend. Prior to that MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) caught up with Katie for an interview on 'The Voice' season 17 red carpet and spoke to her regarding her performance this season, and how her style statements have become a trend these days with fans and viewers wanting to wear the same head wraps and glasses that she does.
Talking about how much love she is getting from her fans, Katie shared, "I love it. Cause I love you too. You got to spread love. If you had said, Katie, I hate you, I mean, that would be worse."
Katie, right from the start when she auditioned, she has kept her style statement intact with her cat eyeglasses and head wraps. Now with the contestants becoming fan favorites, people all over have been wanting to get their hands on the same kind of accessories they wear on stage. Talking about how it feels to finally be seen for who she is, Katie reveals, "Oh my goodness. It feels amazing. I'm kinda cool, and I got people who are like, 'Oh, where can I get the headwraps? I want to wear head wraps and I wanna wear those kinds of glasses'. And I'm like, 'I'm also influential. What is happening?' This kid from the Southside of Chicago, being shy and insecure has now people want to kind of be like me. That's wonderful."
Adding to that she shared, "I just wanted to incorporate stuff and try with trends - I wanted to do my own thing years ago. When I was in high school, I got made fun of with the glasses, and then I brought it back when I hit my thirties. I wanted to do headwraps because I'm from Palestinian descent and I kind of wanted to incorporate my culture too. So that's where it started."
Sharing her thoughts on how her song choices have changed over the past few weeks, Katie said, "I keep on seeing iconic songs by iconic artists. It's intimidating, but it's so much fun. I hope I do everybody justice. I also got to sing a Lady Gaga tune, so I got to sing some more current stuff. I'd like to see myself doing something more current next time around too."
