'The Voice' season 17 battle rounds: Kelly Clarkson manages to keep both Shane and Melinda in her team and fans are overjoyed
Kelly Clarkson was torn between two contestants not knowing who to pick as the winner of the first battle from her team. But luckily the series introduced a new option where the coaches can save one contestant from their team during the Battle Rounds.
'The Voice' returned on Monday night and with the Blind Auditions over, the series made its entrance into the Battle Rounds. The first battle from Team Kelly was between Shane Q and Melinda Rodriguez.
Battling it out against each other to Sam Smith's 'Too Good at Goodbyes', they made it a tough choice for Kelly to pick a winner. Both Shane and Melinda were unique in their own way, and she immediately regretted pairing the two together.
Though Shane had a few issues with managing his falsetto, it looked like it came easy to Melinda. But the raspiness in his voice made up for it. After their performance, Kelly felt torn between the two and didn't know who to choose as the winner.
In the end, she decided to go with Shane as the winner, which left Melinda up for a steal. In no time, Kelly pushed her button to save Melinda and John Legend also pushed his button to steal Melinda.
But, lucky for Kelly, she decided to stick around with her and not change her coach to John. Taking to social media post their performance, fans revealed how overjoyed they were with her decision to use her only save on Melinda because she deserved it.
Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "@kellyclarkson #TheVoice so glad Melinda chose to stay! That was too good!" Adding to that another said, "@kellyclarkson #TheVoice Melinda & Shane Q just killed that battle I guess I should say thank you for a great battle."

Her power reminded me of Maelin, last year's winner. But Shane has so much more we haven't seen yet. He might be the dark horse Good Luck @kelly_clarkson #TheVoice."
