'The Voice' season 16 crowns Maelyn Jarmon winner as she gives coach John Legend his first victory
SPOILERS FOR 'THE VOICE' SEASON 16 AHEAD
After a long wait, 'The Voice' season 16 revealed its title winner and we couldn't be happier.
'The Voice' grand finale had star-studded performances lined up including Hootie and the Blowfish, BTS, Jonas Brothers, One Republic, Taylor Swift, and Brendon Urie. The grand finale also included performances from former contestants, Kim Cherry, Mari and Shawn Sounds.
Competing in the finale was Maelyn Jarmon from Team Legend, Dexter Roberts, Gyth Rigdon and Andrew Sevener from Team Blake. It was a close win as it was anyone's game.
And now for the RESULTS
Coming in fourth with the lowest votes this season was Andrew Sevener. Following Sevener in the third place was Dexter Roberts, leaving Jarmon and Rigdon to battle it out for the top two.
Winning the title this season with the highest votes is none other than Jarmon from Team Legend which left Rigdon as the runner-up this season - just like fans predicted . Jarmon made her mark in the competition with her performance of "The Scientist" by Coldplay.
Apart from this being a major win for Jarmon, this is also the first win for John Legend. Legend made his appearance as a coach on 'The Voice' for the first time this season, and though he was also the most blocked coach, he managed to coach Jarmon into a winner.
After the news of Jarmon winning this season was revealed, fans took to Twitter to reveal their excitement. "CONGRATULATIONS @MaelynMusic! This is exactly what NEEDED to happen! You winning just redeemed my faith in this show! @NBCTheVoice knows how to crown superstars!!! #TheVoice #MaelynJarmon #TheVoiceFinale I’ve been a HUGE fan since day one!!" wrote a fan on Twitter.
"YES! I knew it right from the moment I watched her blind audition! Congrats @MaelynMusic and @johnlegend," said another fan. "So excited for you. Cannot wait to buy all your music for years to come @MaelynMusic," added another.
While another added saying, "Yea Maelyn I’m sooooooo happy for u, u truly deserved to win u have the voice and I was rooting for you the whole time congratulations."
Now that 'The Voice' season 16 is done and dusted, the series has been renewed for season 17.
