Week after week fans tune in to NBC's 'The Voice' to watch some exceptionally talented amateur singers be mentored by their coaches and battle it out to win the competition. The recently aired episode of the popular singing competition show was no different. It's the dedication week on the show, and the top 13 singers have to pick a song that they would like to dedicate to their loved ones.

Shadale from Team Legend decided to dedicate 'Life is a Highway' to her extremely loving and hard-working parents. In her introduction, she explained how her father is a truck driver, while her mother works at a warehouse packaging center, packing clothes. She also revealed how her parents instilled the habit of working hard in her from a very young age, so she wanted to dedicate her performance to them as her token of love and gratitude. Although both fans and coaches loved Shadale's performance to the track, it was the song's artist credit that left the fans annoyed.

The showrunners credit the hit 90s song to Rascal Flatts instead of the song's original singer- Tom Cochrane. 'Life is a Highway' is a track from Cochrane's second studio album, Mad Mad World. The song was a number-one hit in his country Canada in late 1991. In 2005, American country band Rascal Flatts recorded a cover of the song for Pixar's 'Cars' movie. The song was released in 2006, and became an instant hit. Following the song's success, the band added it as a bonus track on their album 'Me and My Gang', and also on their first greatest hits album.

Several fans took to Twitter calling out the showrunners and coaches for not correcting this error and giving the wrong artist credit. A fan tweeted, "#TheVoice A performer on The Voice just covered Life is a Highway. They stated it was done by Rascal Flatts. Canadian Tom Cochrane is original artist. Give the correct artist the credit." Another fan wrote, "My soul left my body (and not in a good way) when they credited Life is a Highway to Rascal Flatts and not Tom Cochrane #TheVoice @NBCTheVoice." "Life is a Highway was written by TOM COCHRANE not Rascal Flats #TheVoice," added a fan.

""Life is a Highway" is by Canadian Tom Cochrane. I can't believe the judges didn't correct this. #TheVoice," observed a fan. "#TheVoice "Life is a Highway" was written & performed by CANADIAN Tom Cochrane, Not Rascal Flatts," seconded a fan.
