'Who does the research on this show?': Fans slam 'The View' after unprepared interview with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’ star Karen Gillian
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ has been under a lot of heat lately from fans, viewers, and almost everyone else on the internet. The talk show is keen on staying on top of pop culture, which means inviting people from recent and trending movies. The show recently invited Karen Gillan from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3'. She plays Nebula in the MCU and graced the sets of ‘The View’. However, the interview felt half-baked.
Alyssa Griffin and Sunny Hostin took charge of interviewing Karen Gillan for most of the part, but it is possible that neither of the co-hosts did their Marvel homework ahead of this episode. Time and again, ‘The View’ keeps giving its viewers reasons to shake their heads disapprovingly and it has happened once again! But who even is surprised this time around?

If there’s one thing that has been established after the most recent episode of ‘The View’, it is that these co-hosts might not be the biggest fans of Marvel. While that’s no bother, some preparation ahead of interviewing Gillan would have been wise. Hostin did not shy away from directly reading off her cue cards, barely attempting at any subtlety while doing so. She did not take charge of the majority of the interview. The co-host was convinced that this isn’t the last Guardians movie. Maybe they should bring in James Gunn to interview next!
Karen Gillan gets compared to Sophie Turner
This isn’t a lesser-known fact but more often than not, Sophie Turner and Gillan get confused for each other, with the former being more popular in Hollywood. Griffin was quick to point it out, excited to put the statement across. Gillan laughed it off as she agreed to be compared to Turner.
While this segment of ‘The View’ did have a few bits about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’ along with clips from the trailer, the interview did not catch anyone’s attention. In fact, viewers were disappointed that Gillan’s popularity was underplayed on ‘The View'. One fan wrote, "Who does the research on this show? Karen has been a part of huge franchises like Doctor Who and Jumanji. These are major projects. This interview reads like the hosts thought she was new. Way better questions could have been asked.” At least this time around, they can blame the lack of questions on the ongoing writer’s strike!
