'The Undoing' is a miniseries consisting of six episodes set to air on HBO. It is based on 'You Should Have Known' by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The show is executive produced by Susanne Bier, David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Stephen Garrett, and Celia Costas.

Release date:

The show is set to premiere on HBO in May 2020.

Plot:

According to HBO, "The limited series follows Grace and Jonathan Fraser (Kidman and Hugh Grant) who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child (Noah Jupe) and her family."

Hugh Grant as Jonathan Sachs

Actor Hugh Grant will play the role of Jonathan Sachs, Grace's husband in the show. He is devoted, but a very public disaster takes him away from his family and secrets are out for everyone to see. 

Édgar Ramírez as Detective Joe Mendoza

Actor Edgar Ramirez who is well-known for the portrayal of his roles in 'American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace' and 'Carlos' will play the role of detective Joe Mendoza in the show.

The show will also see Noah Jupe as Henry Sachs, Donald Sutherland as Franklin Renner, Fala Chen as Jolene McCall, Michael Devine as Detective Paul O’Rourke, Lily Rabe as Sylvia Steineitz, Ismael Cruz Córdova as Fernando Alves, Matilda De Angelis as Elena Alves, and Noma Dumezweni as Haley Gibson.

Creator-Director:

The show is created by David E. Kelley who is also the creator of Nicole Kidman's show 'Big Little Lies'. All six episodes of 'The Undoing' will be directed by Susanne Bier. She is the first female director to win a Golden Globe and has worked on projects such 'Birdbox' and 'Night Manager' among others.
