Inspired by the novel ‘Burial’, also written by Neil Cross, ‘The Sister’ hit the screens with a four-part series and left the viewers thrilled. Acclaimed writer Neil Cross has adapted his own wayward psychological thriller novel for a TV show titled ‘The Sister’.

The latest show revolves around a man named Nathan, who lives an everyday life with his wife. But when Nathan’s former friend, Bob, comes back to meet him, his entire life changes as they both embark on a life-threatening journey.

If you've binge-watched all four episodes and want closure after the chilling last scene, here's all you need to know about the next season.

Release date

The four-part thriller of ‘The Sister’ telecasted first on ITV and the ITV Hub starting from Monday, October 26, 2020, aired over four consecutive nights. The full series box set then came to BritBox on November 26.

Although Season 2 hasn't been confirmed yet, Neil Cross said in an interview with MEAWW that he is thinking about it even though he hasn't officially spoken to anyone about it.

Plot

SPOILER ALERT!

The summary of the Hulu show reads, “How far would you go to keep a secret? One rainy evening, Nathan is surprised by an unwelcome face from the past. Nathan has never been able to forget the worst night of his life: a party that led to the sudden, shocking death of a young woman.”

It continues, “Only he and Bob, an eccentric old acquaintance, know what really happened… and they’ve resolved to keep it that way. But years later, Bob appears at Nathan’s door with terrifying news that threatens to tear Nathan’s world apart. Because Nathan has his own secrets now. Secrets that could destroy everything he has desperately fought to build for himself and his family.”

The fourth episode ends with a major shocker: Nathan escapes the murder, but the ghost of Elise Fox sits right behind in his car. With many loose ends, fans can't stop wondering when will the new season be announced and it is at all in the making.
