Plot
The show follows Dr. Conrad Hawkins (played by Matt Czuchry), who is one of the finest doctors at the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Conrad is known for his unconventional approach to medicine, and when he is assigned first-year resident Dr. Devon Pravesh (played by Manish Dayal), a firm believer in an idealistic world, it falls upon Conrad to open up Devon's eyes to the real-world of medicine which is plagued with imperfect doctors and patients. Fox Network summarizes the show as, " 'The Resident' rips back the curtain and reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. The provocative medical drama follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis."
Cast
Matt Czuchry
Charming Matt Czuchry plays the lead role of Dr. Conrad Hawkins on the show. Hawkins is a senior resident internist at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Actor Matt is known for his roles on 'Gilmore Girls', and 'The Good Wife'.
Manish Dayal
Manish plays the role of Devon Prakash, a first-year intern. He has a very strong moral compass and adheres to idealistic principals. Until Dr. Conrad tries to open his eyes to the real world. Manish is best known for his roles in 'The Hundred Foot Journey' and 'Viceroy's House'.
Emily VanCamp
Emily plays Nicolette "Nic" Nevin: a nurse practitioner at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. She is also the love interest of Conrad. Emily is a Canadian actress who is known for her roles in dramas like 'Brothers & Sisters', and 'Revenge'.
Other supporting actors include Bruce Greenwood who plays the role of Dr. Randolph Bell, who is initially chief of surgery, but later moves on to becoming the CEO of the hospital. Actress Shaunette Renée Wilson portrays the role of Mina Okafor: a surgical resident.
