'The Outlaws' Season 3 Review: Stephen Merchant is back and better than ever in Prime Video's comic thriller

'The Outlaws' follows the life of seven strangers who meet at a community payback sentence and find a precious bag that belongs to The Dean. This sets off a cat-and-mouse game between them and The Dean as they handle their interpersonal relationships and internal complexities to overcome the problem they find themselves in.
While making 'The Outlaws' Season 3, the makers have stuck to what has worked for them in the previous seasons which is comedy and mystery to create a season that breezes through its five episodes.
Entertaining writing and intriguing mystery make 'The Outlaws' Season 3 a fun watch
Creators Elgin James and Stephen Merchant have made a deliberate attempt to entertain while telling the story of 'The Outlaws'. The characters find themselves in pretty grim situations at times but they never lose their sense of humor.
The show doesn't try to be a serious murder mystery and you know that the characters will eventually come up trumps but the obstacles keep coming for the characters and they keep entertainingly overcoming them.
The writing of the show is brilliant and the character development across three seasons is done expertly. The entire story between Rani and Ben (Gamba Cole) shows both characters mature and have a deeper understanding of what they want from life by the end of the third season
Stephen Merchant gives an exceptional performance
'The Outlaws' Season 3 has some great performances by young and veteran actors. Rhianne Barreto and Gamba Cole are good as Rani and Ben. Grace Calder, Eleanor Tomlinson, and Clare Perkins also give great performances in their role.
Stephen Merchant however is the star of the show as he delves deep into the complex character of Greg and gives a performance that elevates the other actors and also the show as a whole.
Stephen is also the co-creator, writer, and co-director of the show, and he shows off his command of his craft in the third season.
'The Outlaws' Season 3 provides wholesome entertainment
'The Outlaws' Season 3 is a series that promised to be an entertainer and it delivers on that promise from the first frame to the last. The pacing of the show is quicker than in the first two seasons and that is a good thing because it keeps the viewers on their toes while watching the show. The character development and the climax do not look rushed at all.
The only thing that doesn't work for the show is its predictability. There are no surprises in the show but it keeps the viewer engaged with its witty humor and carefully crafted twists and turns.
