'The Old Man' is all set to conclude its Season 1 run with a scintillating finale on July 21 and while the FX crime thriller has already been renewed for a Season 2, it still has a few questions that need answering. Based on Thomas Perry's novel of the same name, the seven-episode series follows Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges) as a former CIA man whose clandestine past catches up with him despite his attempts to live in solitude.

Episode 6 saw Chase losing his edge and getting some much-needed support in the end from frenemy Harold Harper (John Lithgow). The former agent's mission to get close to Faraz Hamzad leads him to reunite with Harper and save his daughter Emily/Angela (Alia Shawkat). The penultimate chapter sets the tone for a gripping finish, but there are a few theories that have been doing the rounds ahead of the final episode and one of them is the possibility of Emily as Hamzad's daughter.

Is Emily/Angela Faraz Hamzad's daughter?

That Hamzad was back for revenge perhaps shows there's more at stake. Maybe it is more than Chase escaping with his wife Belour (Leem Lubany). It was revealed in Episode 5 that she knew the location of a mineral-rich mine that would have made the Afghan warlord one of the major players to grasp the most power in the country. But there seems to be more than just losing his wife. Hamzad has not been shown in the present, however, the finale might just shake things up by re-introducing him and also add a twist to the tale.

One of the questions doing the rounds was if Emily was Faraz Hamzad's daughter. Perhaps Belour was pregnant with his child before escaping to America with Chase, and now Hamzad wants what he feels is rightfully his. There is no concrete theory to support this, but the show has hinted at playing one massive card close to its chest and this might be one of them. With Emily kidnapped in the penultimate episode, the race to not just find her, but also Hamzad begins for both Chase and Harper.
