Spoilers for 'The New Look'

PARIS, FRANCE: Apple TV+'s new biographical drama 'The New Look' casts light on the influence of World War II on Nazi-occupied Paris.

The first episode of the drama established Coco Chanel's (Juliette Binoche) alliance with Germans in return for exclusive ownership of her business.

The second episode depicts her struggles to fulfill Walter Schellenberg's (Jannis Niewöhner) assignment of meeting Winston Churchill.

At the beginning of the episode, Walter Schellenberg (Jannis Niewöhner) assigns Coco to meet with Churchill and convey the message of eliminating hostility with Germany.

Coco, a little frightened, decides to recruit the help of her friend turned foe, Elsa Lombardi (Emily Mortimer), who had close ties with the British royalty.

Elsa, who was forcefully transported to Paris from Rome, meets Coco and makes sarcastic comments about her Nazi connection before deciding to help her out since she, too, wanted to leave her unhappy marriage and return to England.

The two ladies, joined by Hans Von Dincklage, and Spatz (Claes Bang), embark on the train journey, where Coco is startled to discover that if Hitler finds out about her work for the peace offerings, he may have her assassinated.

Still, in Spatz's instance, she carries on with the plan. As the two ladies reach their hotel, they get involved in an argument with Coco, accusing Elsa of having no talent, and rubbing salt on her old wounds.

Elsa, seemingly hurt, embraces her, but in the morning she is nowhere to be found, leaving Coco in panic mode.

Left with no choice, she decides to meet Churchill all alone but gets the shock of her life when Ambassador Hoare (Adrian Schiller) reveals that the Prime Minister is not coming to Madrid, and Elsa has already disclosed her intentions behind meeting the Prime Minister.

Coco, dumbfounded, was asked to depart for Paris before things became nasty.

'The New Look' is streaming on Apple TV+.
