'The Masked Dancer': Cricket revealed as Brian McKnight, here's a look at singer's staggering net worth

The singer-songwriter has a number of chart-topping hits including 'Back at One' and 'One Last Cry'

Singer-songwriter Brian McKnight emerged from under the Cricket mask on 'The Masked Dancer' debut season on Wednesday (January 20) night. The towering crooner was eliminated from the competition after becoming the least voted masked celebrity from Group A that also included: the Hammerhead, the Tulip, and Exotic Bird who have now moved ahead to join the Super Six lineup along with Sloth, Zebra, and Cotton Candy.

McKnight performed to the song 'This is How We Do It' by Montell Jordan. He was one celebrity that 'The Masked Singer' judges always guessed and it was just wishful thinking on their end that came true when McKnight signed up for its spinoff show. Dr. Ken Jeong who judges both the shows was seen beaming with relief after Cricket took his mask off and revealed his true self. We are guessing it's because they can finally stop guessing McKnight's name as every other celebrity on these shows now. 

McKnight has been active in the music industry for close to three decades now. He's a very renowned performer and has a number of chart-topping hits to his credit including 'Back at One' and 'One Last Cry'. In the clue package videos, the background dancer's clock masks were set to 1 o'clock, a clue that pointed to 'Back at One'. McKnight has released more than 13 studio albums in his career and the song which was also the name of his 1999 album sold more than six million copies worldwide. The successful artist has amassed a total net worth of a whopping $10 million in his time in the limelight, according to Celebrity Net Worth. 

Coming back to his 'The Masked Dancer' gig, even though the judges had differing thoughts about the identity of Cricket (only Paula Abdul thought it was McKnight) the viewers watching at home knew from the clue packages that it was the singer-songwriter under the mask. After his elimination, a lot of them took to Twitter to gloat about their guess. "I thought the Brian McKnight clues were a bit obvious but at the same time I was a bit surprised when he took the cricket mask off. #TheMaskedDancer" wrote a fan. "It may be someone they guessed, and I was right! Brian McKnight!! #themaskeddancer" tweeted another fan. "I got one right!!! Brian McKnight!! And he's still swoon-worthy. :) #TheMaskedDancer" read another tweet. "Yessss I guessed correctly!!! Brian McKnight is the Cricket #TheMaskedDancer" wrote another.

'The Masked Dancer' airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on FOX.
