'The Mandalorian' Season 2 released on Disney+ on Friday, October 30, and fans who waited patiently for a new season had every reason to rejoice. To add to the excitement was Twitter creating the Baby Yoda hash flag after the ultra-cute character to celebrate the release of the new installment. For those unaware, a hash flag is a hashtag with a Twitter emoji forming part of the tag. Social Media platform Instagram already supports hashtags with emojis, but emojis can't be used as part of the standard Hashtag on the Twitter platform.

Much of the Twitterati thought it was fake, but it does work and we urge you to go try it. Not just is it cute, but it does add to the excitement. This move adds to the frenzy after 'The Mandalorian' started trending heavily on Twitter. Titled, 'The Marshal', the episode focuses on Mando/ Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) joining forces to take down a monstrous Krayt dragon terrorizing the town of Mos Pelgo. The new season of the epic 'Star Wars' franchise traces the journey of Mando/Din Djarin in a quest to find the child's origins and its home and with seven episodes remaining, there's a lot to look forward to.

After a relatively short hiatus, especially with the coronavirus pandemic taken into account, 'The Mandalorian' returns almost exactly a year after its first debuted, and the one-hour premiere was an instant success with fans with Twitter being ample proof. This episode had it all - an expansion of 'Star Wars' lore featuring characters both well-known and obscure, a soundtrack by Ludwing Goransson that is outdoing its stellar first season performance, and an old-timey Western take on Tatooine, jetpacks, Baby Yoda, and, taking the center stage - the Krayt Dragon of the Dune Sea that wreaks havoc in one of the towns in Tatooine.

What are your thoughts on Twitter's Baby Yoda hash flag?

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Chapter 9 is available for streaming on Disney+. New episodes of the epic series drop at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET.
