‘John Wick’ prequel series ‘The Continental’ is eyeing a potential Fall premiere on Peacock
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Keanu Reeves set fir at the box office with 'John Wick: Chapter 4'. The fourth installment in the Keanu Reeves assassin series debuted with a franchise-best 73.5 million dollars at the box office. The Lionsgate film, starring Reeves as the reluctant-but-not-that-reluctant killer 'John Wick,' exceeded both expectations and previous opening weekends. Since first launching in 2014 with 'John Wick' (14 million dollars on its opening weekend), the Chad Stahelski-directed series has steadily grown as a ticket-seller with each sequel. The 2017 follow-up opened with 30.4 million dollars, and the 2019 third chapter, 'Parabellum,' debuted with 56.8 million dollars. Safe to say, 'John Wick: Chapter 4' swept the slate clean. However, Reeves may appear in the spin-off movie starring the 'Blonde' actress, Ana De Armas, while another spin-off TV series is coming on your screens very soon. It was earlier announced that the 'John Wick' spinoff series titled 'The Continental' will be released this year. Now, the makers have confirmed that the series will stream on the NBC streaming platform Peacock very soon.

When will 'John Wick: Chapter 4' be released?
A spin-off television show set in the Wick universe, titled 'The Continental,' finally has a premiere date. It'll hit the small screen in September on Peacock in America and Prime Video internationally, so you won't have to wait too long to get your assassin fix. The spinoff series will explore the organized network of hotels controlled by the organization for assassins known as The High Table. The series will be based off of characters created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad for the 'John Wick 'film franchise. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as writers and showrunners on the show. The ensemble cast of the series includes Mel Gibson, Ayomide Adegun, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, and Peter Greene.
Erica Lee and the unique setup
Erica Lee also disclosed that the limited series would have a rather unique setup. In contrast to most other series with at least one season of several episodes, 'The Continental' will consist of just three episodes, each 90 minutes long. Each basically has its own mini-movie, the three episodes will be continuous with no time jump whatsoever, sticking to its main setting of New York City in 1970.
Until then you can watch 'John Wick: Chapter 4' in theaters near you.
