‘The Great North’: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Nick Offerman's adult animated show
The writers of ‘Bob’s Burgers’ have come together along with Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte, and Paul Rust to create another adult animated sitcom for Fox, titled ‘The Great North’. The forthcoming animated TV show brings the adventures of a single dad and his Alaskan family.
A quirky comedy, ‘The Great North’ shares several similarities with ‘Bob’s Burgers’ in terms of art style and humor. But what makes the show interesting is the characters and the series seems to show much potential in its first two episodes.
Release Date
‘The Great North’ was first announced in 2018 by Molyneux Sisters and Minty Lewis. The series was officially given a series order by Fox in 2019 and was set to premiere in 2020. However, it was announced in mid-May 2020 that the animated show will now premiere mid-season during the 2021-22 television season.
In December 2020, Fox announced that ‘The Great North’ TV show would premiere on February 14, 2021, as part of Fox’s Animation Domination programming block.
Plot
‘The Great North’ features Beef Tobin (Offerman), a career fisherman and a divorced father of four. Along with his family, he moves to Alaska to start a new life, but he is still coming to terms with his ex-wife Kathleen having abandoned their family. The animated sitcom will show how Tobin and his kids, Judy, Ham, Wolf, and Moon lead day-to-day life in Alaska.
