In Episode 1 of 'The Girls on the Bus', four female journalists gear up to cover a presidential campaign from the campaign bus.

Viewers are introduced to four female journalists: Sadie McCarthy from The New York Sentinel, Kimberlyn from Liberty Direct News, Grace, who boasts decades of experience covering political campaigns directly from the bus, and Lola, who has transitioned from an Instagram influencer to a journalist.

The women, driven by a shared passion for journalism and a desire to make a difference, are eager to embark on this exciting journey.

As they each contend with personal challenges, all the journalists journey to Iowa, United States, to participate in a pivotal campaign event.

For Sadie, Kimberlyn, Grace, and Lola, the event is a chance to showcase their journalistic skills and make a name for themselves in the competitive world of political reporting.

Sadie works tirelessly to secure an interview with Caroline Bennett (Joanna Gleason), the frontrunner in the presidential race. Sadie is determined to prove herself as a journalist, eager to make a mark in the competitive world of political reporting.

However, her boss insists on her covering Caroline's story objectively and without bias, emphasizing that this is her last chance to prove herself as a journalist.

As the sole Black woman on the news channel, Kimberlyn confronts racism and discrimination while covering the presidential campaign. Despite her unwavering professionalism and dedication to her work, she encounters prejudice from her colleagues.

Grace finds herself grappling with the challenge of balancing her career with her responsibilities to her family. As she delves deeper into the fast-paced world of political reporting, she struggles to carve out time for her family.

On the flip side, Lola is encountering difficulties with sponsorship due to her public support of a black female journalist.

The situation takes a dramatic turn when rumors begin to circulate that Caroline may be considering dropping out of the presidential race.

Female journalists find themselves grappling with a myriad of challenges that leave them frustrated and disheartened about what to cover.
