'The Flash' Season 6: Wally West set to return as Kid Flash and he may put an end to Reverse-Flash

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' saw the multiverse crumble. Heroes died, and so did people as the massive anti-matter wave swept across the universe disintegrating them into nothingness. One of the heroes who was definite in the who-will-die list was Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). However, it was a different Barry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) who made the supreme sacrifice. And since we're talking about speedsters, Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West aka Kid Flash has been largely absent in the new season.

He had a brief stint in 'Legends of Tomorrow' and was appearing in and out of 'The Flash'. It was announced recently that Wally would be back post 'Crisis'. As reported by comicbook, showrunner Eric Wallace had this to say about Wally's return: "After working on his inner life in Tibet, Wally West, aka Kid Flash, is back to help Team Flash against a familiar threat... but one with a very new face!"

He would go on to mention, "As always, it’s a real treat having our Flash family member Keiynan Lonsdale back to play the youthful speedster, but what’s different this time [is that] Wally has grown, along with his speedster abilities, too."

The showrunner also mentioned that this would not be the same Wally West that people remember from his first experience on the show. Wallace adds, "this won’t be your same old Kid Flash making a reappearance… a fresher, more exciting direction for a character as Wally — just like the rest of Team Flash — deals with a post-Crisis world."

For now, the theory is that Wally will face off against the Reverse-Flash. Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) is after all the oldest archenemy of the Flash and this time we might see a Wally 2.0 who would finally put an end to the evil speedster.

The upcoming episodes of 'The Flash' will also see the introduction of two new DC characters. Ralph Dibny's (Hartley Sawyer) iconic love-interest will be arriving with Natalie Dreyfuss playing Sue Dearbon, future wife of the Elongated Man. The Flash will also be introducing a gender-swapped version of the second Mirror Master with  Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor), who is planned to be a series regular.

'The Flash' Season 6 will be back on February 4,  2020, on The CW.
