Things are coming to a head in the Arrowverse. The multiversal 'Crisis' is less than a month away and some deaths are certain (or are they). The Monitor has revealed the key to saving the lives of billions. Unfortunately, it will come at the cost of Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) life. Tearful goodbyes have been aplenty this season, and his team is slowly trying to come to terms with a world without 'The Flash'.

However, going by the last episode, there might be a tiny drop of hope that Barry can be saved. At the end of the episode, the new Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) revealed that he has a plan on how to save Barry. Just like the fans, Team Flash has always been rather sceptical about the various incarnations of Harrison Wells.

Yet, to be honest, only one Harrison Wells turned out to be a rotten egg as he was Eobard Thawne taking on Wells's appearance. The latest Nash Wells marched in and got into Cisco's bad books. Yet, after a powerful moment between him and Joe while trapped underground, he seems to have mellowed down a notch. And now, Nash is ready with a plan to save Barry Allen. Will this work? Or our hopes being raised unecessarily? Comic book fans know that Barry dies in the crisis.

But there's more to this tale. Tom Cavanagh will not just be playing the role of Wells. He is also portraying the role of DC character Pariah, who was somewhat accountable for the release of the Anti-Monitor. Even if he isn't a villain, he's deeply entrenched in the drama unfolding between the Monitor and Anti-Monitor and is also trying to look for a way to stop the devastation from the upcoming Crisis. This indicates that though his intentions might be related to preventing the Anti-Monitor, his actions could just about manage to save Barry and his team.

However, the tables could turn either way. It could also just be that Nash Wells is leading the team on a wild goose chase and has other evil plans in mind. Let's hope that the team doesn't fall into the trap and fights back.

Nevertheless, some nerve-wracking episodes are around the corner. 'The Flash' airs on CW.
