'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 12: Sue Dearbon's introduction gets some major twists in typical Arrowverse style

This article contains spoilers for 'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 12: 'A Girl Named Sue'

The world was finally introduced to Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss) in 'A Girl Named Sue'. It wasn't what we thought it would be, but it just made sure the character was pivotal in the current scheme of things and established she would play a key role over the remainder of the series.  While she was eventually shown to be a thief, something that we didn't expect to see, it kept parts of her comic persona intact, one of it being her socialite status.

The final moments of the episode see her give Ralph Dibny/ The Elongated Man the slip again in addition to stealing a diamond from John Loring's safety deposit box, a man whom she claimed she was in love with before he tried to kill her.  The biggest reveal, however, is when she discovers information on Black Hole when the diamond is scanned. This also implies we haven't seen the last of the character. At the moment, it is also safe to speculate she and Dibny might end up crossing paths and the brief, flickering romance has a chance to ignite again, just like in the comics.

Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, Sue first appeared in  Flash #119 from March 1961, where she was seen as a high-profile New York socialite.  In addition, she was also part of the controversy in 2004 when a storyline in the comic, 'Identity Crisis' saw her being killed by her old and longest friend, Jean Loring. While we can be assured the Arrowverse show might not take the same route, it has brought in some major changes by tying her up with Black Hole and gender-swapping Jean with John Loring.

What are your thoughts on Sue's introduction?

'The Flash' Season 6 airs Tuesdays 9 pm on The CW.
