Barry Allen aka The Flash's (Grant Gustin) prophesied death during the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' was an accepted matter in the CW show. A major part of the sixth season was spent in teary goodbyes, as Barry prepared to die during the multiversal crisis. However, the tide turned in his favour and he survived the crisis, along with the other Paragons. The world was annihilated by the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), and rebirthed again, with the help of the Spectre in the form of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). The catastrophic event shattered the world as Barry and his team had once known it, and all the earths were integrated into one, while all the Paragons were on the same Earth.

You would think that after saving the world, Barry's problems would be over. Clearly, that's not the case, as the promo for the latest episode shows a couple of new villains out to strike terror into the hearts of Barry and his team. But believe it or not, that actually seems to be the least of Barry's problems. The beauty of the show, 'The Flash', is that most of Barry's problems come from personal dilemmas and emotional fluxes. These pose a more serious and dangerous threat to Barry, than the eminent villains. The villains, like Bloodwork, just latch on to these vulnerabilities and use it against him. Just before the Crisis, Bloodwork played a brutal game. After Barry got infected with his blood, Bloodwork coaxed him to join him, as that means that he could survive the disaster and have that life he always wanted with Iris (Candice Patton) and their child Nora, who was erased from the future in Season 5.

Barry is one of the most emotional superheroes in the Arrowverse, and in the promo for the next episode, we see him struggling in the post-crisis world. He survived, but nothing is normal. He lost his close friend Oliver Queen, and that loss is going to weigh heavily on him. The showrunner Eric Wallace told Entertainment Weekly that Barry is about to go on an emotional journey and that the fallout of 'Crisis' has just begun.

His wife Iris is cold and standoffish (a little out of character for her, considering she had once jumped off a building to save him), and Joe tells him that he needs to get used to the new world.

With personal relationships at stake, along with sadistic villains on the rise, Barry has a lot to deal with in the upcoming episodes.

'The Flash' returns on February 4, CW.
