'The Flash' Season 6: Bloodwork takes his true form in 'The Last Temptation of Barry Allen: Part 2'
This article contains spoilers for 'The Flash' Season 6: 'The Last Temptation of Barry Allen: Part 2'
Dr Ramsey Rosso's Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy) finally shows his true form that we have witnessed in the comics. Gruesome, huge, chilling and deadly, the character's final form was a fan's delight. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), finally free from Bloodwork's influence manages to subdue him eventually, but not before getting a dose of his powers. He uses the same approach as the villain by getting into his mind and using his mother's memory to stall him as long as possible so that when Rosso transformed back to his human self, Barry would be able to put him in the meta cell.
While it does seem like the Bloodwork threat is neutralized, the Endgame in the form of 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' begins. At the moment, it is still unclear if Rosso returns to terrorize team Flash in the post-'Crisis' stage, but until then, the show writers have given the world a look at what Bloodwork is at the peak of his powers.
Bloodwork was introduced in the comics in 2017 as a hemophilic coroner, who runs experiments with metahuman blood. He injects other people’s blood into his veins and he gets the power to control blood himself.
He has the power to stop blood flowing in other people and he can conceal it or burn it. The more worked up he is, the more uncontrollable his power gets.
Eventually, the powers reach astronomical levels and he emerges as a giant blood monster. In the comics, the Flash shut him down by sending a negative speed force through his chest, stopping his heart and shutting his powers down for a while. While the Arrowverse has given a different ending at the moment, this could be how he finally ends.
'The Flash' Season 6 airs Tuesdays 8 pm on The CW.
