NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Greg Gutfeld went on a rant against "woke" groups for putting race in the center of social discourse.

He made the comments in reference to comedian Bill Maher's recent appearance on the podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience' where he slammed the fixation on race by leftist groups.

Gutfeld, as a conservative, suggested that using race as a significant factor actually does the opposite of what these groups think they are doing.

Greg Gutfeld says equity cannot exist

'The Five' host was completely on board with what Maher wanted to say about the obsession with race. He said that it was wrong to think that racial identities helped with reaching an equitable system in society.

"The idea of looking at everything through the prism of race is indeed racist no matter what direction you come from," he claimed, "If you use race as a filter that means you see people as groups and not individuals and that means you can only say one group is better than another."

He also went on to say that equity does not exist in any form around us "or else there would be 50% white guys in the NBA and 50% black guys playing hockey, [but] that's not the case."

Greg Gutfeld says equitable systems punish people

While attacking "woke" groups on working towards equity in society based on race, Gutfeld pointed out that the concept of race itself does not exist in an 'ideal' America.

"That was the whole damn goal!" he said, "We built the system so we could reach that goal and it was called America. That was the melting pot."

Gutfeld continued slamming "woke" groups by continuing his rant with, "At some point we moved towards a system where we didn't see skin color but the woke's goal which is making things equitable is also their system. And if its your system then that means somebody gets punished."

According to the host, as long as American people get grouped together based on their races, it was definite that one race would be affected in the favor of another or vice versa.
