'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 8: Is Rick Lagina married? Here's the truth about the private treasure-hunter
For the past 200 years, Oak Island has been the center of the rigorous treasure hunt. Historians, scholars and treasure hunters have searched and studied the island thoroughly in the hope of finding the elusive treasure that was said to be hidden by either pirates or the Spanish/the French from back in the 15tand sixteenth centuries. Even though no treasure has been found, a whole bunch of strange artifacts has been unearthed by the Lagina brothers, who began the operation a couple of years ago, including a lead cross that is strongly speculated to be from the Knight's Templar days, a few strange coins, along with pickaxes.
Rick and Marty Lagina have spent almost a decade of their lives searching the island and their work has been carefully documented by History Channel's documentary 'The Curse Of Oak Island'. Each year, the brothers return with expensive equipment to dig up the swamp or certain spots on the island, in order to answer the questions that have been plaguing scholars for years.
Yet, not much is known about their personal lives, or at least Rick's. We do have an inkling of Marty's history though. Several times, during the course of the show, fans have asked about Rick Lagina's wife, or whether he is married at all. Let's put some of that speculation to rest.
He has never been married and has always been single (well, to our knowledge). For a while, there were even some rumors about him being gay. However, nothing has been said on that front and the channel's website has left his marital status as 'unknown'.
A picture on Instagram of a woman in a wedding dress (that has now been removed) standing close to Rick, sent the internet into a frenzy. Some fans posted congratulatory messages, whereas others seemed concerned by the fact that he was dressed up in his grimy stained clothes. However, turns out, that the woman isn’t Rick Lagina’s wife. She is the wife to Kel Hanson, one of Rick’s friends on set whom he was congratulating.
The treasure-hunter keeps his life famously private. Even his social media accounts are private. In other words, we are no closer to finding out who his wife, girlfriend, or partner is. Meanwhile, tune into 'The Curse Of Oak Island' on History on Tuesdays at 9 pm.
