MTV's 'The Challenge' edits Dee Nguyen's scenes after firing her for racist remark, fans say 'good riddance'

'It’s incredible how flawlessly #MTV has completely wiped Dee out of this show #TheChallenge,' a user tweeted

Dee Nguyen was recently fired from the MTV-backed reality competition series 'The Challenge: Total Madness' over her racist remarks on social media. The channel and Bunim/Murray Productions released a joint statement, in which they mentioned that the TV star will not be a part of the reunion special episode and future seasons.  Early last month, the network had to reduce the length of an episode to ensure her portions were edited out partially. But now the show seems to have put all her scenes on the chopping block and fans couldn't be more glad. They even went on to thank the edit team for doing a great job at doctoring the footage.

"Give the editors of #TheChallenge a raise, I keep forgetting Dee is even there," a fan commented while another shared: "It is insane how much @mtv #TheChallenge cut Dee out of the remaining episodes...I literally forget she is still in the competition." "It’s incredible how flawlessly #MTV has completely wiped Dee out of this show #TheChallenge," a user tweeted. "Shout out to the editors at MTV for REALLY cutting Dee out of the rest of this season," an amused viewer wrote, to which another responded: "Just goes to show they were giving her too much airtime to begin with. Good riddance"

The channel severed ties with Dee for her now-deleted offensive, racist comments on social media. On one of the many George Floyd posts, Dee wrote: "People die every f–king day," which resulted in outrage. To calm things down, Dee made a public apology but it was too late. She sought forgiveness and announced that she'll be gone from social media for a while to focus on her mental health. "Let me be clear I am a POC that cares about BLM," the contestant shared in her note but the damage was done.

Oddly enough, she is not the only reality TV star who has been ousted from a show owing to inappropriate comments. Alex Kompothecras of 'Siesta Key', Pete Hunziker of 'Below Deck Mediterranean', Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni from 'Vanderpump Rules', Taylor Selfridge of 'Teen Mom' and Aby Lee Miller of 'Dance Moms' are some of the stars who have been shown the doors.

Catch all the new episodes of 'The Challenge: Total Madness' on MTV every Wednesday.
