Natalie Negrotti is not afraid to talk about her sexuality as she took to Twitter to explain why she decided to accept her sexuality and embrace it. Taking to Instagram, Natalie shared a picture of her while sitting in front of a colorful flower wall. The reality star enjoyed the freedom of opening up about her sexuality to the rest of the world.
“Accepting myself as I was designed led me to the day I stopped trying to fit into a world that never really fit with me and gave me the chance to blossom into the person I am today #selflove,” she captioned the picture. She then took to Twitter to explain why she took the decision of opening up about her sexuality on television.
Natalie shared that she wanted to use her forum to draw people's attention on what must be heard. "I came out with my story to share my truth with those who are battling the same thing I did. Do not throw hate at anyone for their actions. I wanted to use my platform to educate people who are not informed. Let’s spread love and education not hate," she wrote. She also thanked everyone for their love and support.
"Last night was a tough moment for me and I want to thank @ChallengeMTV and @MTV for giving me the platform to showcase sexuality in a positive light. I want to thank everyone for all of the love it’s been overwhelmingly beautiful," she added. Even though the news about Natalie's sexuality came out in an unexpected way in front of the world after she was outed by castmate Kaleigh Morris on social media, she did not take it to her heart.
Seeing how Natalie handled the situation and started taking pride in who she was, fans applauded her for the strength. "I too was outed on social media, I’m not in the spotlight like you are so I can’t imagine your pain. Thank you for sharing your story and being true to yourself. I struggled for years but I survived," wrote one user as they shared their own story, while another added, "Aw man I’ve loved you since 'Big Brother' and it’s lovely to see that your kindness and compassion hasn’t changed. So sorry for the way in which you were outed—I wish you all the best moving forward."
Talking to US Weekly, Natalie revealed how hard it was to live with a secret. “It’s been a 28-year battle for me,” she said. “I wanted to set a standard because you can’t do that. There are so many teenagers and kids that commit suicide every year because they get outed inappropriately."
"She took something that was mine and made it her own, and she did it really in a nasty way. Outing someone is not right and I want to set that standard … I wanted to come out in the right way, I wanted to turn it into something positive so that viewers that are going through the same thing that I’ve gone through don’t have to go through it for 28 years," she continued. Natalie's former 'Big Brother' castmates also took to Twitter in support her. "Statement. No one is allowed to say shit about @NataliaNegrotti except for me, that’s how I am with my teams that’s how I am with my family and vice versa. Blunt, but it’s all love and for the best. That’s my new sister and I’ll defend her as such. We’ve come a long way sis," wrote Paul Calafiore.
Meanwhile, Audrey Middleton wrote, "I ’m so honored to know you! Thank you for being vulnerable and a representation of strength + transparency for others who struggle to be that way themselves. You always take the high road and that’s why you always come out on top."
