'The Bachelorette' Season 21 lead Jenn Tran to return to school

Jenn Tran was born on November 24, 1997, in Hillsdale, New Jersey, to Vietnamese immigrants. She has an older brother named James.

Jenn, raised bilingually, actively participated in high school lacrosse and basketball. She began her college journey at the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology in 2020.

She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Currently residing in Miami, Florida, Jenn attended Barry University in Miami to study as a medical assistant before joining the cast of 'The Bachelor' Season 28. She is expected to complete her master's degree in clinical medical science later this year.

In an exclusive interview with Bachelor Nation, Jenn said that she will be taking a break from physician assistant school and that she discussed returning to school this season with her guys.

Jenn said, “A lot of them knew that I was in PA school because I talked so much about being a physician assistant and what it really means to me. So I think a lot of them knew how important it was to me and how I will be finishing school. This means I will be in Miami for another year, and that was a huge part of these relationships."

She added, "We talked about if they’re willing to do long-distance or willing to move. Those conversations happened a little bit later because that was when feelings were really real, and you could really think about what life would look like in the outside world.”

She continued, “I am a bit of an overachiever, and I really wanted to do everything all at once because it’s tough for me to honestly give up being a PA student right now; even just temporarily, it feels weird for me. But I knew I just really needed to focus on one thing at a time because that is what’s best for everybody. PA school isn’t just a hobby, it’s something that I want to excel in, so I know that I need to give it the time that it deserves,"
