Will Mai Whelan win Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge'? Vietnam immigrant manipulates her way to Top 3
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Vietnam-born Mai Whelan is believed to have the potential to win Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge'. It appears she has both the emotional and mental stability to go all the way in the game.
The immigration adjudicator won everyone's trust at first by being the calmest person. She became one of the strongest allies of TJ, the chosen leader of the group.
TJ was seen supporting Mai the most even though he himself got eliminated. Later, Mai formed a bond with the female members of the group but betrayed them when she needed to stand up for herself.
Mai knew the only way to move ahead in the game was through alliance. Therefore, she tried her best to keep her character stain-free.
After eliminating Player 378, Sam's friend, Mai knew this would turn Sam against her and that would've been a great setback for her in the game. Therefore, she manipulated Sam "to set the record straight" and make Sam believe that she eliminated his friend only for the show and held no enmity.
In the 'Circle of Trust' game, Mai smartly fooled Roland by being his friend and then getting him eliminated by putting the box in front of him.
Is Mai Whelan lying to win 'Squid Game: The Challenge'?
Clearly! Mai is clearly lying to win the game. Toward the end of 'Circle of Trust', we saw Mai, Sam, and Phill Cain moving ahead to the finale.
After bagging the position in the finale, Sam was left confused about who put the box in front of Roland's desk. He asked Mai in shock, "Wait, did you put the box on Roland's desk?"
Without taking a moment, Mai nodded her head saying, "No." Not entirely convinced, Sam asked again, "Whose box did you put on the desk?"
Mai knew fingers would naturally point at her and gave Amanda's name instead.
What will Mai Whelan do with 'Squid Game: The Challenge's prize money?
Mai, who previously served in the military, is now working as an immigrant adjudicator. Residing in Fairfax County, Virginia, she helps immigrants relocate to the USA.
Being an immigrant herself, Mai claimed she would use the $4.6M prize money to find a perfect home for her retirement.
'Squid Game: The Challenge' finale will be released on December 6 on Netflix.
