TULSA, OKLAHOMA: Abigail Heringer recently emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in ABC's popular dating show 'The Bachelor', highlighting the significance of showcasing individuals from various cultures, ethnicities, and identities.

On Saturday, March 30, 'The Bachelor' contestant shared a TikTok video addressing diversity within the reality TV franchise. In the video, she highlighted the importance of representation in media and its potential to positively influence viewers by enabling them to see themselves represented on screen.

She advocated for continued efforts to promote diversity in casting and storytelling within the franchise, recognizing the power of inclusivity in shaping narratives and fostering a more inclusive society.

However, what grabbed the viewers' interest was Abigail's appearance. Numerous individuals accused her of receiving Botox and lip fillers on social media.

A Reddit user said, "Wow, I don't follow her so I haven't seen her in a while and she looks so different from how I remembered." 'The Bachelor' star Abigail Heringer addresses diversity in a TikTok video

In her latest TikTok video, Abigail shared her stance on diversity and inclusion in 'The Bachelor.' She started by saying, "I think it's obvious by now that the Bachelor has a diversity problem and I wanna talk about it."

She further added, "My name is Abigail and I was born deaf and I went through the Bachelor on Matt James season and then I went on to Bachelor in Paradise where I met my now fiance Noah Erb and so I feel like I kind of have a little bit of experience on this topic."

"I think the biggest message with this video is that people like me really just want visibility on these shows and I think there is just so much power in seeing somebody that has a very similar situation upbringing experiences and watching them on your TV and kinda figuring out how they navigate the same experiences that we navigate every single day but where I think the show is missing the mark is they're not letting these storylines or um the minorities of people with disability kinda just naturally share their story," Abigail said.

The 'Bachelor in Paradise' further added, "It's almost coming as tokenizing and that's kinda how I felt after walking away from the experience of basically what tokenizing is when an able bodied person thinks that they're being inclusive and almost going over the top about it and controlling the narrative and then patting themselves on the shoulder that they were being inclusive and that's just not really the best approach when trying to share these stories."

Abigail continued, "And the honest truth is my disability is not your show and tell like let me share my experiences the way that I wanna share them and I understand it's an industry everybody has to make money they have to produce a show but I think I speak for a lot of us that I just think the raw stories from all these people are what we wanna see and what we wanna hear and not the over-produced stuff."

"I think where bachelor is missing the mark is they're just not letting all these stories play out naturally which I get it's a show but it seems like all these other shows like Love Is Blind, Love Island is doing it and they are doing it well," she concluded.
