The latest, December 7, episode of ‘The Bachelorette’ was indeed full of drama. Some relationships broke while a few new bonds were formed. Among many emotional moments from tonight, Ben’s troubled past was one of the highlights. When Tayshia Adams gets a chance to meet with him for a one-on-one date, she asks him to open up as she’s always tried to understand him better.

Little did Tayshia know that Ben had so much to share as he spoke about the struggles he’s been through in the past. He revealed that a back injury nearly immobilized him and he had to even quit his job as a banker because of the same. He then opened up about his fight with the eating disorder bulimia. Furthermore, he tells Tayshia that he wouldn’t have made it if not for his sister, who helped him get through the darkest phase of his life.

Ben didn’t hesitate to share with Tayshia that he was suicidal and somehow survived two attempts with the help and support of his sister. Not only did his confrontation make Tayshia feel better a great deal, but it also helped him get a rather fun date with the bachelorette.

Ben’s story had the audience in tears as they couldn’t help but sympathize with him. He who had barely opened up to Tayshia soon became “the one” in the audience’s opinion as they began shipping for him. Many noted on Twitter that she should forget all the suitors and marry Ben.

One of them tweeted, “BEN What an amazing man. Good on you for opening up & letting people know that we all struggle, no matter how perfect your life looks from the outside @BacheloretteABC #TheBachelorette.” Another added, "Tayshia better marry Ben quick or imma have to #TheBachelorette." One tweeted, "Ben continues to open his heart and just lay it out. Thank you Ben for continuing to share your story about bulimia, suicide, and normalizing therapy. #TheBachelorette" Adding to the previous tweets one said, "I just fell in love with Ben through a tv screen. The emotions? The vulnerability? If Tayshia doesn’t marry this man I WILL."
