'The Amazing Race': DeAngelo-Gary eliminated, fans say 'sh***y attitude' of other teams stunk up this season

In the December 9 episode of ‘The Amazing Race’, the teams were sent to the next destination to Manilla, Philippines. Host Phil Keoghan, who was waiting for the teams outside the airport, told them the challenge to follow wasn’t going to work if they don’t work together, collectively.

It was almost as if the production team sensed the alliance formed between Hung and Chee, Maddison and Riley and Will and James and wanted to break it. The plan worked until the last and the main challenge to determine elimination where the alliance of the three teams decided to help each other, leaving DeAngelo and Gary to figure it out on their own. Eventually, the team lost and got eliminated.

Viewers of the show took to Twitter to express their anger towards the “manipulation of other teams". One wrote, “#theamazingrace the manipulation of other teams and their general nastiness towards others has me rooting against the boyfriends on this season of the race.” DeAngelo and Gary asked the boyfriends (Will and James) if they wanted to work together for the last game and they refused and went on to help out their alliance.

“Worst season of the amazing race EVER!! The boyfriends are THE MOST annoying!! I’m not even watching the finale who cares who wins. I’ll find a new show,” wrote a viewer. Comparing the episode to the finale of 'Dexter', another viewer wrote, “I haven't seen such a negative response to an episode of TV since the Dexter finale #theamazingrace.” Another viewer felt it could have been a good season if the “sh*tty attitudes and whining” of the other teams didn’t stink up this season. “This could have been such a good season but these teams and they’re sh*tty attitudes and whining really stunk up this season #TheAmazingRace.”

A viewer felt the production didn’t do everything to stop the alliance from being so powerful as they wrote, “I don't have really have a problem with teams forming an alliance on #TheAmazingRace I wish production would have done more to prevent it but its really just that those final 3 teams are boring, really annoying, and really boring. Ive never been less excited for an episode #TAR32.” Another fan of the show expressed disappointment towards the season saying, “#theamazingrace is one of my favorite shows but I have to say that this season and the sneakiness, whispering, underhandedness, and at points, intimidation, has made it one of the worst. If you weren't in the alliance, you never had a chance, and that sucks. Ugh! So disappointed.”
