Contains spoilers and speculation for 'The Acolyte'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 8 aired on Disney+ on July 14, 2024. The exciting episode brought an end to a controversial yet eventful series in the 'Star Wars' show.

The events of the show take place in the High Republic Era at a time when the Jedi Order was at its peak. As the show comes to an end, we see the death of Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) as Master Vernestra (Rebecca Henderson) blames the Jedi deaths on Master Sol calling him a rogue Jedi.

Osha (Amandla Stenberg) and Qimir (Manny Jacinto) continue to grow closer together building a master-pupil relationship as Mae has her memory wiped out by Qimir. Here's a look at a few easter eggs that might have been missed by the audience.

Mae escapes from the clutches of Master Sol and flees in an escape ship. The helmet she dawns, while she is in the cockpit, has a firebird sigil that is familiar to the 'Star Wars' viewers.

The sigil was the symbol of the Jedi Order before it was redesigned later in the 'Star Wars' series.

Darth Plagueis

The character of Darth Plagueis is one of the most fabled characters in the 'Star Wars' universe. He was a Sith who used the Force to conquer life itself and desired immortality.

This is the first time the character appeared in live-action. He appeared as a dark figure peeping through a cave when Osha and Qimir escaped the Unknown Planet they were on in the last couple of episodes.

Osha was the protagonist of the show for the longest time and trusted the Jedi to be representatives of the good. It is when she hears Master Sol's confession about killing her mother that she switches to the Dark Side.

Her switch to the Dark Side was complete as her lightsaber changed to red from the blue lightsaber of the Jedi. She also uses a move that the Dark Side uses when she Force Chokes her former master to death.

Master Yoda

'The Acolyte' ends with a tease of possibly featuring Master Yoda in the second season (@lucasfilm)

Master Yoda appears in the final moments of the show and teases a potential appearance in the coming seasons of the show. Master Yoda is the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order who served the Jedi for many centuries.

The appearance is uncertain for now as we do not know whether Vernestra will confess to the true killings of the Jedi to Master Yoda yet.

External review of the Jedi

Master Vernestra is told by a senator that an external review of the Jedi is required because they were obsessed with controlling emotions leading to extreme results in the Jedi Order.

This is a foreshadowing of an external review that will eventually take place about 100 years later in the 'Star Wars' canon ultimately in the 'Phantom Menace'.
