Spoilers for 'The 100' Season 7
A happy ending is not a sure thing for the characters on The CW's post-apocalyptic show, 'The 100'. The characters who came closest to this were Monty Green (Christopher Larkin) and Harper McIntyre (Chelsey Reist) and even they had to live out their lives to old age without their friends. Their son, Jordan Jasper Green (Shannon Kook) was named after Monty's best friend, Jasper Jordan (Dev Bostick), whose PTSD following the events of the first two seasons showed the other extreme end of the outcome. Jasper was overcome with the losses and by the time the second nuclear apocalypse came about, he had decided to take his own life.
For Jordan, this means a mixed legacy -- he has his father to live up to; his father who saved a part of the human race, but he also seems to be a lot like Jasper. When Jordan fell for a woman -- quite quickly, which we can understand because Jordan lived most of his life in isolation, but when she was killed so that one of the Primes could take her, Jordan's story took a turn. By the end of the sixth season, it looked like he had turned into a Faithful, but thankfully, his adventure with the planet-hopping squad, including Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), Raven Reyes (Lindsey Morgan), Nathan Miller (Jarod Joseph), and Niylah (Jessica Harmon), has made him back into the Jordan we once knew.
What worries us is a snippet of conversation during the virtual San Diego Comic-Con in July 2020 (the show's last, sadly), about Jordan. The "very idealistic" Jordan wants to do good, Kook said of the character he plays, pointing out that both Jordan and Shelby Flannery's Hope Diyoza are outsiders and bring different perspectives. "This season, he's really exploring what's at the root of the culture in Bardo," as they train for "the war to end all wars," showrunner Jason Rothenberg previewed. "He doesn't buy it. He saw something when he was adjusted, and it's definitely got him on a journey that takes us all the way to the finale and proves to be pivotal."
We don't know yet what it is that Jordan saw when he was adjusted but now we do know that Jordan will be training with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and Echo (Tasya Teles) for the "last war" as well. Crucially, it looks like he does see through some of it and since Rothenberg confirms that this takes us all the way to the finale, we can expect Jordan to play a vital role with the Bardo plotline. This might mean that Jordan might not return to Sanctum, which could be a good thing, but with just seven episodes left, a lot could happen. We have yet to see whether the Sanctum and Bardo plotlines might converge, it would be pretty interesting to see Bill Cadogan (John Pyper-Ferguson) and Sheidheda (JR Bourne) face off, but it is unlikely.
'The 100' airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8/7c. A new episode will premiere on August 5.
