'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' star Rachel Beaver gets candid: 'Just because I don't know my baby's daddy, doesn't make me a bad person'

In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Rachel Beaver reflected on what made her say yes to the show

MTV is set to bring the second season of 'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' and viewers are all in it to welcome a new teen mom. It was revealed that Rachel Beaver and Kiaya Elliot would be replacing Jade Cline and Lexi Tatman in the upcoming season of the show.

Speaking exclusively to  MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Rachel shared that she was taken quite by surprise when MTV approached her for the show. "I was surprised and really excited," she said.

Rachel added that she said yes to the show because she thought it was a "great opportunity and I really wanted to share my story with other young moms. Especially being as young as I was, I wanted people to see what I was going through."

Season two of the show will deal with the plotline of Rachel figuring out who the father of her child is. Is it Drew, her boyfriend or Jacob, her boyfriend's best friend? The reality star noted that she hopes people see the whole story before forming an opinion about her.

"I think a lot of people are going to see it and be like, 'oh, she doesn't know who her baby daddy is', and probably think that I run around and do stuff. But I don't know how people will feel about it," she said.

"I know they are going to be mean about it, obviously because I am a 16-year-old who doesn't know who her baby daddy is but nothing could ever beat me up about that because I know that I really tried in my relationship," she confessed.

Rachel continued, "And I really put a lot of time into it and if people cannot see that then I guess that is on them."

She added, "I hope people see it and realize that I really tried and I messed up but I made something out of it. I hope people see that just because I don't know my baby daddy, that doesn't define me. That doesn't make me a bad person and it doesn't define who I am."

Despite this, Rachel is hopeful that people see the positive side of her life. "I hope people see my story and get inspired by it and realize that they are not alone and see all the craziness that happens in my life and not only be entertained by it but learn something from it," she said.

'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' returns to MTV on October 22 at 9 pm.
