'Teen Mom 2' star Kailyn Lowry says ex Chris Lopez 'humiliated' her by asking for paternity test
'Teen Mom 2' star Kailyn Lowry said she felt humiliated when her ex, Chris Lopez, asked her to take a paternity test for one of their children when she was pregnant. However, she took the test anyway. In an episode of ‘Baby Mamas No Dramas’ podcast, the 27-year-old mom revealed her painful experience.
"I had to get a DNA test against my wishes," Lowry told co-host Vee Torres. "I knew who the father was, but he didn’t believe it. I knew who I slept with and have never questioned any of my kids’ dads." Lopez and Lowry are parents to two sons — Lux, 3, and 2-month-old Creed. Lowry also has a 10-year-old son named Issac with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and 6-year-old Lincoln with ex-husband Javi Marroquin. The mother of four added that her other exes never asked for a paternity test.
Recalling her awkward encounter with the nurse at the testing facility, the Pennsylvania native said, "I go into the DNA place and (the nurse) said 'So, you don’t know who the dad is?' She flat-out asked me." She continued, "When I tell you the humiliation that I felt. I knew who the dad was, I never questioned it. That was never a question in my mind. Yes, I know there are women who lie (about their kid’s father). I know women who have lied. I know that’s there, but that wasn’t me. I’m not that type of person."
The ‘Hustle and Heart’ author said she had no reason to lie about her sons' paternity, especially as a public figure. "I am in the public eye; why the f**k would I put myself in the position where I don’t know who the damn dad is?" Lowry wondered. "Wow. I was embarrassed, this is not OK. Don’t humiliate me for no reason. I know who the dad is. I couldn’t believe (the nurse) said that. I had tears running down my face, I was so humiliated."
In an interview with US Weekly, the MTV star said she has even considered abortion after her ex Lopez admitted to intentionally getting her pregnant. In one of her Instagram live series, one fan asked if Chris was involved in the baby's life and she said, "Don't remember the last time I heard from him."
