Why is Ariana Grande replacing Nick Jonas?

Shedding light on the major shocker, a source told Page Six, “Ariana is a huge fan of The Voice and her management team has been negotiating to get her on the show for a while. She is replacing Nick Jonas, who is a [coach] on the current season, but he isn’t leaving for good. Nick will remain on rotation with other stars that have appeared on the show. The chances are he will be back soon.”

Grande — whose international fan base of “Arianators” has only paved the way for success to become one of the biggest pop superstars of our generation — will be joined by returning iconic coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton, along with host Carson Daly, a press release revealed.

BEST SURPRISE EVER!

Many fans couldn't believe the news. "DID U GET HACKED OR SOMETHING WE NEED A VIDEO OF U SAYING THIS SO THAT WE KNOW IT IS TRUE," one excited fan wrote. The official account of The Voice confirmed it saying, "BEST SURPRISE EVER!"

Others advised her that it was not the right age to be on a reality show. "girl not this...you're still in your post-imperial pop star phase, wait until you can barely reach a top 10 single with an album to go full talent show judge mode," one tweet read. Another, however, felt that Ariana's effect would be huge. "THE VIEWERS ARE GOING TO SKYROCKET!!! ARIANAS IMPACT," one fan wrote.

Why is Nick Jonas leaving?

Nick Jonas returned to the popular singing reality show for the second time as Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend resumed their coach duties. The talented crooner previously judged Season 18. If we talk about his salary on the show, Talent Recap reported that he makes somewhere close to $10 million per cycle. Sadly, country singer Gwen Stefani didn't come back this season and the last episode saw Kelsey Ballerini taking Kelly Clarkson's chair.

The Battle Rounds for Season 20 of ‘The Voice’ continue Monday, April 5 and April 12 at 8 pm ET/PT on NBC. This season marks the 10-year anniversary and the show has ranked among the top 5 most-watched alternative series for each of its 11 broadcast seasons on the air!
