Plot

Metacritic's description of the series reads: "America Ferrera known for 'Ugly Betty' and Ben Feldman known for 'Mad Men' and 'A to Z' star in a hilarious workplace comedy (from the producer of 'The Office') about a unique family of employees at a super-sized megastore. From the bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans to the clueless summer hires and the in-it-for-life managers, together they hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales, and nap-worthy training sessions."

Season 6 tagline reads: “More essential than ever" and will showcase the challenges faced by essential workers during the pandemic. During this season, the series will also celebrate its 100th episode, but according to reports, it will also be a goodbye to a member of the Cloud 9 crew. We also saw that in the season 5 finale, Amy Sosa (America Ferrera) had accepted a job at Cloud 9 corporate in California. Season 6 will also tackle her fate in the series as she's set to exit the production, along with Covid-19 antics. Reports also mention that the premiere of the season will showcase Amy beginning her job remotely.

The synopsis of the premiere episode titled 'Essential' reads: "After the coronavirus hits, Amy and Jonah try to bring some order to the chaos in Cloud 9 while being pulled in multiple directions. The employees learn what it means to be considered 'heroes' while Amy and Jonah's impending move to California looms large."
