'Supernatural' Season 15 Episode 19: Will Jack bring Cas back? Fans slam 'bullsh*t and sh*tty writing' for delay

Jack's behavior has prompted major backlash within the fandom, with viewers complaining on Twitter, 'Jack is literally god and didn’t even try to bring Cas back?'

Once again, the 'Supernatural' fandom is raging and flaming. In the most recent episode of Season 15 “everything is on the line as the battle against God continues, and a familiar face returns to join the fight". In Episode 19, we saw Chuck defeated by the Winchester brothers as Jack emerged to become the new god. But joyous as the occasion was, fans have a bone or two to pick with the writers. The reason? Jack, the new God, didn't try to bring Cas back. 

The previous episode saw Cas sacrifice his life for the remaining trio of demon hunters by getting sucked into the Empty along with Billie. Not only was Cas's admission of feelings acknowledged, but apart from carving his name on the wooden table in their bunker, it's almost as if Cas never even existed in their worlds. This is funny as Dean asks Chuck to bring back Cas because God can resurrect angels from the beyond, but when Jack ultimately becomes God, that idea is as forgotten and discarded as a day-old newspaper. 

This has prompted some major backlash within the fandom, with viewers complaining on Twitter: "Jack is literally god and didn’t even try to bring Cas back? And dean didn’t ask him to even though he begged chuck to ??? What absolute bullshit and shitty writing. 15 year show and that’s the best you got ?" Another called the show mad for not even addressing the possibility. "UR TELLING ME THIS MAN DIDN'T ASK JACK TO BRING CAS BACK???? UR INSANE CWSPN," the tweet read.

For some, things still looked hopeful. "Maybe Jack brought Cas back but we don't know it yet and he's waiting for someone to pick him up in that field? Please let me clown. Cas is coming back next week," enthused a fan. For most, however, it was just anger and frustration at the way the show deals with this character. "If Cas' end is to rot in the empty for being happy and gay while the bros get to live their lives EVEN THOUGH JACK IS MORE POWERFUL THAN GOD HIMSELF AND COULD EASILY BRING CAS BACK then I'm gonna throw hands & forever roast this show," fumed a viewer on Twitter. 

Chiming in, others added: "And why didn't jack immediately bring cas back??? And why didnt dean ASK him to bring cas back???? He literally asked chuck at the beginning to bring him back but then when Jack clearly has the power to do it hes like nvm rip cas ig????" In the end, it all boiled down to one thing only: "DEAN LITERALLY DEMANDED CHUCK TO BRING CAS BACK BUT WHEN JACK BECAME POWERFUL ENOUGH TO DO IT NEITHER JACK NOR DEAN THOUGHT OF BRINGING HIM BACK??? THIS IS SO SENSELESS WRITING WTF."

The show has already been slammed homophobic for making Destiel canon all these years later, right on the brink of the character about to die, never to be addressed or heard of again. And with this further treatment, they aren't winning hearts that's for sure. Here's hoping that's what the series finale airing next week entails: Jack finally having the good sense to bring Cas back – what other endings could possibly be there right? He is God after all!
