Why is 'Supermarket Sweep' not airing this Sunday? Here's what you can expect when ABC game show returns

Sunday's episode was canceled due to the 2020 American Music Awards

The reboot of the classic ‘60s game show, ‘Supermarket Sweep’ is an ABC production that follows three pairs who battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes.

The game show begins with smaller sweeps that consists of riddles and guessing games where team members first play individually before playing as pairs. The goal is to win as many points as possible as their team scores would translate into cash money and add on to the prize sum that they win in the final round. 

Last week we saw Team Olive win $50,000 in the first round and in the second round Team Sweet Snack who were on a winning streak, lost all their money when they couldn’t guess the answer to the last question. Even though none of the teams could win the grand prize on last Sunday's episode, we saw how the teams are getting faster with each sweep and how they quickly guessed the answers to the riddles as the show progressed.

It would be fun to watch if the show gets tougher from there on. Sunday's episode was cancelled due to the 2020 American Music Awards. Viewers can watch the award show on ABC or on ABC's website with a TV provider login. If you have a streaming service with live access, you can watch on Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now and YouTube TV. Taraji P. Henson will be hosting the show live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion, BTS and Shawn Mendes are taking the stage of the 2020 American Music Awards. Katy Perry will perform for the first time since giving birth to daughter Daisy Bloom in August.

The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch are tied with eight nominations each. Megan Thee Stallion has five nominations. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift each have four nominations. Dua Lipa, BTS, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, Post Malone, Maren Morris and more are nominated.

'Supermarket Sweep' will air next Sunday, November 30, at 8/7c on ABC.
