When everyone decided to stick to humor and parody, Google decided to take on a different direction as they brought in an emotional commercial. The Google ad takes viewers on a ride as it showcases the life of an old man who remembers his wife. The commercial titled 'Loretta' sees the man, 85, trying to keep his wife's memories alive.

However, he decides to take some help from Google as he is heard asking, "How to not forget." Google reveals that one of the best ways to do so is by repeating the thing one wants to remember. This leads the old man to seek help from his Google assistant. The old man asks Google assistant to show him all the pictures of his wife while he takes down notes of everything she loved to make sure he does not forget her.

Finally, the Google assistant describes all the details given to it by the old man and ends it by stating one thing that his wife always told him and that was: "Always said don’t miss me too much" and "get out of the dang house".

Upon hearing this, the old man decides it is time for him to step out of the house. He decides to take his dog out for a walk and obey what his wife had told him. This ad left viewers emotional as they thought that it hit their emotional chord.

"Has there ever been a bigger emotional whiplash during the Super Bowl than that gut-punch of a Google ad and the one for hummus?" read one comment. Another added, "I wasn’t expecting to tear up during the Super Bowl... but there I was, a grown woman, SOBBING over an ad. Google did us all dirty with Loretta."
