This summer, prepare to fall in love with Netflix's upcoming modern love story titled 'Summertime'. Set by the sunny skies and picturesque beaches of Italy, the series promises a unique tale of love and self-discovery during a particular summer holiday.

'Summertime' will premiere on Netflix on April 29, 2020.

Plot

The official synopsis reads: "'Summertime' is a modern love story, set during the summer, on the Adriatic coast. An undeniable attraction unites Ale and Summer, two people who come from very different worlds. He is a former motorcycle champion, rebellious and determined to take over the reins of his life. She is a girl who refuses to approve the mass and has dreams of going far but knows that she is the glue of her family."

"Their love will blossom at the opening of the first umbrellas on the beach and will grow strong and vibrant together with the summer sun. For both, the holidays will be an unforgettable journey that will take them away from what they were before they met."

Playing the role of Summer on 'Summertime', this will be Rebecca's debut role.

Tersigni plays the role of Alessandro, Summer's love interest. The Italian actor is best known for his performances in 'Oranges & Hammer', 'Slam — All for a Girl', 'Anything Can Happen' and 'Beyond the Threshold'. 

Creators

The series is directed by Lorenzo Sportiello and Francesco Lagi. Sofia Assirelli, Enrico Audenino, Mirko Cetrangolo, Daniela Delle Foglie, Daniela Gambaro, Francesco Lagi, Vanessa Picciarelli, and Anita Rivaroli serve as writers.

A  breezy teaser trailer to the series shows Summer sitting under the sun at a park by the sea, where literally anyone and everyone around her is either canoodling or embracing one another as she looks on. The teaser ends with a glimpse of the male lead Ludovico Tersigni as Alessandro. While not much is known about the series as of yet, the delightful trailer hints to a refreshing story about love and self-discovery through the summer holidays.
