The British war drama 'Summerland' will release to digital retailers in a couple of hours and promises to be a delightful mush-fest. The film is set during World War II and narrates the story of a shy, reclusive writer who falls in love with an evacuee from the London Blitz.

The official synopsis states: "During World War II, reclusive writer Alice has her sequestered life upended when Frank, an evacuee from the London Blitz, is left in her care. Despite initially resolving to be rid of him, Alice finds herself and her emotions reawakened by him." The cast of the film is filled with familiar faces. So, meet the cast of 'Summerland'.

Gemma Arterton

Arterton is an English actress known for films such as 'Quantum Of Solace', 'Clash of the Titans' (2010), 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' (2010) and 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' (2013) as well as several smaller films such as 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' (2009), 'Tamara Drewe' (2010), 'The Escape' (2017) and 'Vita and Virginia'. 

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Gugu Mbatha-Raw is known for her role as Tish Jones, sister of Martha Jones, in 'Doctor Who'. She also appeared in American productions such as the Tom Hanks comedy 'Larry Crowne' (2011) and the series 'Undercovers' (2010) and 'Touch' (2012). Her breakthrough role was in the critically acclaimed film 'Belle' (2013).

Penelope Wilton

Wilton is known for starring in the BBC sitcom 'Ever Decreasing Circles' (1984–1989); playing Homily in 'The Borrowers' (1992) and 'The Return of the Borrowers' (1993); and for her role as Isobel Crawley in 'Downton Abbey' (2010–2015). She also played the recurring role of Harriet Jones in 'Doctor Who' (2005–2008).

Tom Courtenay

Courtenay is known for films such as 'Billy Liar' (1963), 'King and Country' (1964) and 'Doctor Zhivago' (1965), among his many credits. Throughout his career spanning five decades, he has been nominated for Academy Awards, BAFTA as well as Emmys.
