While the second season opened to mixed reviews, season 3 left fans pretty excited and the internet is flooded with fans praising the show for its tight storyline and the actors' performances

This article contains spoilers for 'Stranger Things' season 3

The third season of 'Stranger Things' finally released on Netflix July 4. Fans waited for a good two years for the much-anticipated third installment to release and soon after the show hit the streaming service, die-hard fans sat through all eight episodes and took to Twitter to post their experiences and thoughts.

While the second season opened to mixed reviews, season 3 left fans pretty excited and the internet is flooded with fans praising the show for its tight storyline and the actors' performances. To start with, some people were still midway through the series but already declared this was probably the best season ever. One of the users @_danny0825 tweeted, "On episode 3!! I love this show! The cast are amazing. #StrangerThings3."

Meanwhile, some fans who just started off watching the series were finally happy. @heyitsyoboyjj said, "We’ve been waiting 615 days for this moment. Stans, fans, and nerds.. you know your places. Grab your eggos and ready your wrist rockets cause the summer of 1985 in Hawkins is gonna be strange."

"It's Time" was the most tweeted phrase with fans expressing their excitement soon after the show premiered on Netflix. The season saw their heroes go from kids to teens and guess some fans still couldn't get over the change. "Their voices are so deep, where have my babies gone????" one fan tweeted

And those who binge-watched the series are flipping. Absolutely. The season finale saw some unexpected twists, with one of them being Jim Hopper's (David Harbour) fate after he's presumed dead. One of the users who claimed to have binge-watched all eight episodes expressed his thoughts. @Wassabiitsjacky tweeting, "Me after I watched the last episode of #strangerthings3" posted a gif of a kid crying in disbelief.

Season 3 saw a few major characters dying (**ouch**) and that has left fans bewildered. But a major chunk of the tweets has already signaled that the series is a runaway hit. @EllforElliot's post read "Definitely the best season so far! finished in 1 night Luv soooooooo much" while some couldn't get enough of the season.

Season 4 may not be officially confirmed, but those who finished season 3 took to social media stating they couldn't wait for it. @90sARNOLD said, "Me waiting for season 4 even though season 3 came out 8 hours ago #StrangerThings."

At the moment, Reddit fans are relatively quiet (guess they are still watching) as there are no updates on the official megathread at the moment. But it's only a matter of time before fans go bonkers and speculations take charge. And when they do, watch this space for the best theories and reviews.

'Stranger Things' season 3 is now available for streaming on Netflix.
